At DevensHHW, we are committed to providing safe and effective waste management solutions. Our goal is to help residents and small businesses dispose of toxic household hazardous waste responsibly, ensuring a cleaner environment for our community.

We are located at the intersection of Cook St and Antietam Road on Devens.
Waste Acceptance requirements:
- Waste must be visible, accessible, and packed in a single layer

Open the first Wednesday & following Saturday of each month, 9 am - 1 pm, March to December except for holidays, & weather permitting. Closed during rain or snow. Reopens when rain stops.

Fees. Cannot exceed DEP’s threshold for Very Small Quantity Generator. Generate less than 220 lbs. of ignitable, corrosive, reactive, toxic, hazardous waste or waste oil per month and no acutely hazardous waste.

The waste is transported to our contracted vendor facility where it is sorted, processed, and disposed of according to federal and state regulations.
Usable paint can be given away on reuse groups. It can be treated as regular trash if dried completely from top to bottom. Use a Paint Calculator so you only buy how much paint you need.
Alkaline batteries less than 10 years old no longer contain mercury and can be trashed.
Lithium batteries less then 11 pounds can be left for free at locations such at Home Depot or Lowes (Collection boxes in entry way).
We can accept lithium batteries over 11 pounds for a fee (based on weight).
Lead acid batteries: We accept for a fee based on size.

Your town’s Police Department should be contacted for assistance managing potentially explosive materials or items
Consult your local Transfer Station, Recycling Center, or Board of Health for disposal of flammable gas, fire extinguishers, compressed gas cylinders
Prescription medicines should not be flushed, they should be crushed and trashed or kept safe for a special collection, check Police Dept. for 24 hour collection containers or Drug Take Back Days for possible collection in your area.
Do not put Needles and syringes into recycling. Get a sharp medical container; call Nashoba Associated Boards of Health 978-772-3335.
